cooleywindsor.com:
website for my friend and author, cooley windsor, for his forthcoming book visit me in california. at cooley's request, the site was supposed to simple and elegant - which i hope i accomplished - with a minimism similar to an actual book. case in point, the contact page has no web form, merely an address so get a pen and paper and say hello! a wordpress site with a custom template and some nifty javascript scrolling code (thanks sharon paine!) that degrades nicely if a browser has javascript disabled. jccsf.org:
jewish community center of san francisco. inherited the site and have fought bad code far and wide to improve visually and functionally. lots of custom code to bypass limitations of cms. many custom sub-sites designed independently or with the help of graphic designers to create individual spaces yet stay within the branding confines. extensive javascript dom tinkering and some ajax to allow for communication between software - (as) graceful (as possible) degradation in its absence. plus teeny bits of everything. asp.net/mssql frontend. asp/mssql backend. html, css, ajax, javascript. jweekly.com:
j. weekly, the jewish news weekly of northern california. (currently in the process of developing the new site - click here to see it in development). site uses the ExpressionEngine content management system by Ellis Lab. the j. weekly's design requires some sophisticated templates and it is quite a challenge, but one that is taking shape nicely. php, mysql, html, css, javascript. a site for a colleague's art. this is actually a wordpress site (my first) - though i'm pleased it looks nothing like one. creative modification of templates as well as some nifty javascript give it a unique appearance. php, html, css, javascript. (development)

orchidmorphinedesigns.com:
custom jewelry site. entirely hand-written, table-less code (except where appropriate for tabulated results). home-grown pagination code. graceful degradation in absence of javascript. php, html, css, javascript, mysql. (design and development)

radical leadership. migrated site from physical files into wordpress, along with a custom wordpress "plugin" at assist in some e-commerce. html, css, javascript, php, mysql. (development)

san francisco art institute.
2007 - present: made some custom additions to the site, but the real goal here is in moving the site from its old content management to a new one. (there's no site in development yet). anticipate heavy asp.net/mssql, some xlst, html, css, javascript. (some design and development)

2003 - 2005: inherited site while doing i.t. support so learned thanks to the internet and visual studio's intellisense. lots of tweaks and add-ons to the backend admin area. biggest accomplishment: wrote and implemented code for e-newsletter sign up and an internal html generator for html email campaigns. minor internal php for reporting purposes. asp.net/mssql frontend. asp/mssql backend. php, html, css, javascript. studentsdocare.org:
students do care, inc. student volunteering site aimed at high school and college age students. the site is partnered with several other non-profits to post volunteering opportunities (currently only in the chicago area). the core of the site is in user profiles, allowing visitors to register as volunteers where the can sign up for events. the profile keeps track of their hours, their events, emails them reminders, the whole shebang! volunteers can also become leaders which allows them administrate the events they lead via the website. additionally, non-profits may register to submit their volunteer opportunities which are then screened by staff and posted. built this site completely from scratch using django, python, html, javascript, css. (design and development)
