in 2003, this website started as a learning experience, first in HTML and CSS and really ugly Javascript, and then later to dip my toe in the django web framework. but more than that, if i'm honest, it was meant as my own web presence that wasn't a profile on friendster or myspace or facebook or something on blogger or blogspot or anything remotely like an online confessional.

by defining it in the negative, though, i've never really known what it was i was doing here. now, with most of the above reasons for that definition being so undeniably dated, i think something nice and static is good enough until i find again what it is i'd like to say.
